White House Party Crashers, Michaele and Tareq Salahi bounced $24K check for liquor buy

The Virginia couple at the center of last week's White House security breach is now accused of bouncing a nearly $24,000 check for liquor purchased in Maryland.

According to documents filed in Montgomery County District Court in Rockville, MD, the couple returned more than $10,000 worth of merchandise, but they still owe more than $13,000 from the bounced check. The large quantity of alcohol was purchased to supply wine and beer for America's Polo Cup World Championship, a charity polo event the Salahi's held in the county in May. [AP]

In other curious news:

  • Officials for the  state of Virginia discovered that the charity the Polo tournament was raising money to support, Journey for the Cure, did not exist ... until last month, November.
  • Tareq Salahi also seems to have problems paying for landscaping.  He was forced by another judge to give up his beloved and ultra-expensive Patek Phillipe watch to pay their landscaper.
