Warren Sapp: Another Bankrupt Pro Athlete
His average post-football monthly income exceeds $115,000. Yet, he owes $6.7 million to creditors and to his ex-wife for child support and alimony.
[Yahoo] Sapp, a former defensive tackle for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Oakland Raiders during his 13-year NFL career, was also once a contestant on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.”
What in the hell did he do with the mega-millions he was paid as a football star? Where is his salary going each month? What did he do with his reality show contestant earnings? How do you spend a $100 grand every single month?
Get this. Among his $6.45 million in assets:
- 240 pairs of Jordan athletic shoes worth almost $6,500
- $2,250 watch
- a lion skin rug worth $1,200
By plutocratic standards, these baubles hardly even rate on the expenso-meter. But they do give you a good idea why you shouldn't feel in the least bit sorry for Mr. Sapp.
Do you believe pro athletes are good role models? Or just spoiled adult children?
