Viktor Kobzar, final defendant in $47 million mortgage fraud pleads guilty
Kobzar, a 32-year-old Federal Way mortgage broker, and six others were arrested in March on allegations that they used their access to three Bellevue companies to garner fraudulent loans. In doing so, prosecutors contended, they enriched themselves.
The defendants have agreed to forfeit $2.5 million in assets, including a Lamborghini Gallardo sports car, two BMWs and a 31-foot yacht.
Kobzar faces up to eight years in prison at sentencing, currently scheduled for Jan. 8.
Co-conspirators Camie Byron, 28, of Renton; Alla Sobol, 28, of Renton; David Sobol, 40, of Issaquah; Donata Baydovskiy, 28, of Bellevue; and Sandra Thorpe, 55, of Shoreline, each face up to five years in prison, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. Vladislav Baydovskiy, 31, of Bellevue, faces up to eight years in prison.
