US Poverty Rate Reaches One In Six

The U.S. Census Bureau released a new report last week showing that nearly one in six Americans were living under the poverty line in 2010.

With 14 million people out of work, the unemployment rate has hit record levels.

[WAPO] As poverty surged last year to its highest level since 1993, median household income declined, leaving the typical American household earning less in inflation-adjusted dollars than it did in 1997.

The Census Bureau report showed that 46 million Americans lived on less than $22,314 for a family of four.

The greatest country on earth cares nothing for their own poor.
