Original The million-dollar diamond-studded suit

The world's most expensive suit has been unveiled — with an eye-gouging £599,000 price tag. And, it's ugly as hell.

diamond suitThe hand-stitched cashmere, wool and silk blend two-piece took 600 man hours to put together. It was then "outlined" by jeweler Stuart Hughes with 480 diamonds. Really? Attaching 480 precious stones to the edges of the garment qualifies as "creative"? I'll bet the Africans shedding blood for these diamonds are duly impressed.

How does a suit, or any piece of clothing, require 600 hours to make? Are we talking 100 hours for actual labor plus 500 hundred extra for late night Scotch binging and numerous days spent whacking dimpled balls down grassy fairways?

Fortunately, Richard Jewels (clever name) is only making three of these wasteful extravagances and he's already sold the first one to a classy buyer in France.

Mr Jewels, from Manchester, and Liverpool-based Mr Hughes, are donating ten per cent of each sale to the Haiti relief fund. A whole ten per cent of $1 million.

Mr Jewels proclaimed: "I hope to establish a luxury brand that will not only capture the eyes but the hearts of the consumers."

He said as part of future packages for Richistanis he would be offering all-expenses paid trips to destinations such as Arc en Ciel in St Lucia, because super wealthy people need to be coddled and made to feel special.

He added: "The emphasis on our products is to solidify one's individuality."

Bollocks. I can't wait to see these clowns outline a pair of briefs with rubies.
