The Billionaire In Newt’s Pocket
It's hard to imagine a sleazier financier than a casino owner. Nonetheless, Newt Gingrich owes every bit of the success he's enjoyed during his 2012 presidential campaign to a super PAC funded by Sheldon Adelson, a Las Vegas casino tycoon.
[ABC] A driving force behind that super PAC is Sheldon Adelson, a Las Vegas casino tycoon who has translated his deep friendship with Gingrich into a financial bonanza to buoy his candidacy. Adelson gave the PAC, Winning Our Future, $5 million just before the South Carolina primary, and this week, his wife gave the group another $5 million.
The simple fact that a self-serving, leacherous troll like Newt Gingrich can buy his candicacy with the help of a billionaire Las Vegas casino owner is all the proof we need to conclude that democracy has been gang-raped and murdered.
