Super PAC’s Flooding GOP With Dollars

Super political action committees with obtuse names are spending massive sums of dollars into the GOP race in an effort to influence the 2012 presidential election.

[AP] The names of these super political action committees — "Winning Our Future" and "Restore Our Future," for example — don't give any clues to the average voter who's behind them. And though big money has always been a part of big elections, this year's efforts are something new, a result of major court rulings easing spending limits by groups not directly linked to the candidates.

Money has always been a part of politics, but after campaign finance laws were gutted by the supreme court it is far easier to circumvent federal disclosure laws.

Free speech has never been easier to purchase.
