Sen. Charles Schumer’s Brother-in-Law Lands Judgeship

Sen. Charles Schumer’s brother-in-law was discreetly appointed to a federal judgeship in New Jersey in a surprising and suspicious decision by New Jersey’s two US senators, Frank Lautenberg and Robert Menendez.

Kevin McNulty, spouse of Charles Schumer’s sister, was appointed to the US District Court by the White House on Friday, Dec. 16.

[NYP] According to the New York Post, Lautenberg and his aides have given no public explanation for the decision to go with McNulty even though the latter had never been publicly touted as a contender for the job, which carries life tenure and a $174,000-a-year salary.

This appointment reeks of political maneuvering for 2014.
