Public Corruption Investigation Dragnet Ensnares N.J. Politicans and Rabbis
Federal agents on Thursday arrested 44 people. Among those taken into custody by FBI and Internal Revenue Service agents were three New Jersey mayors, two state assembly members, more than a dozen other current and former New Jersey officials and politicians and a handful of New York and New Jersey rabbis — as part of a major investigation of corruption and international money laundering schemes that included the trafficking of human kidneys between Israel and the United States, authorities said.
