Naomi Campbell’s Horus Home
Her Russian billionaire boyfriend Vladislav Doronin gave her a glass-domed, 25-bedroom vacation home on an island in Turkey’s Gulf of Gökova.
Here's the kicker, it's eco-friendly and shaped like the Egyptian "Eye of Horus". A particluar legend about this island goes back to ancient Rome. As the story is told, Marc Antony imported sand from Egypt to create the lush beaches for Cleopatra herself. Hence the shape of the home.
Eco-friendly or not, this is one ugly [expletive] home. The scar that it leaves on the landscape of this beautiful island is an eyesore that distracts from the exceptional natural beauty of the gulf. Frankly, it looks like a puss-filled pimple amidst the tropical vegetation and water.
The extravagant cost of this ugly home and its destruction of natural beauty for a single person is precisely why wealthy people deserve the derision so generously heaped on them. The world's plutocrats are systematically purchasing and hoarding what's left of the most beautiful places for their exclusive benefit.
Love the giant golden Ankh, by the way. Classy. Very classy.

And won't Mr. Doronin feel like a chump when Ms. Campbell dumps him for another billionaire.
