Original LA Times Wins Pulitzer for Exposing Plutocrats

We'd like to congratulate the LA Times for winning a Pulitzer for public service for their superb work exposing corrupt Bell, CA. officials.

The Los Angeles Times's superlative investigative reporting exposed that Bell, Calif. politicians in the 37,000-resident town (the poorest in Calif.) had increased property taxes and other service fees in part to cover the enormous, six-figure salaries the officials were paying themselves. The Times's series eventually led to arrests and the ouster of a number of city officials.
