House Republicans Probe $528M loan to bankrupt solar company

Solyndra Inc., a solar panel manufacturing company once cited by Obama White House as "worthy" of federal stimulus investment is now, after having gone bankrupt, at the heart of a bad loan scandal.

[Associated Press] The collapse of the Fremont, Calif.-based company once touted by President Barack Obama that ultimately left taxpayers on the hook for $528 million has caused House Republicans to question if the loan was rushed to accommodate a company event in September 2009 that featured Vice President Joe Biden.

Rightly so.
