Gov. David Paterson fined $62K for accepting World Series tickets

New York Governor David Paterson was fined $62,125 Monday by the state Public Integrity Commission for seeking and accepting five free Yankees 2009 World Series tickets.

The governor sought and received five tickets to Game 1 of World Series between the New York Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies in October 2009.

The tickets were for the governor, his son, his son's friend, and two aides.

Paterson maintains that he always intended to pay back the price for the tickets.
