Goldman Sachs chief executive Lloyd Blankfein gives up 2008 bonus
Lloyd Blankfein joins six other company leaders at a prestigious US investment banking group who have turned down multimillion-dollar bonuses this year amid mounting anger over excessive boardroom salaries.
Goldman Sachs chief executive Lloyd Blankfein - whose bonus last year was $US68.5 million ($106.5 million) - and six other top officials told the board's compensation committee they did not want a bonus because of the company's poor performance this year.
The decision means the seven company leaders will receive an annual base salary of $US 600,000. Poor poor boys.
