Baseball legend Lenny Dykstra arrested for fraud

(Reuters) – Onetime World Series hero Lenny Dykstra has been charged with fraud for allegedly selling or destroying some $400,000 in property that was subject to his 2009 bankruptcy case, federal prosecutors said on Friday.

[excerpt] The federal complaint said Dykstra listed two Southern California residences in his bankruptcy filing -- an $18.5 million mansion that he bought from former hockey great Wayne Gretzky and a $5.4 million house in the Los Angeles area.

The bankruptcy filing effectively placed the homes and all their furnishings under the ownership of the bank and Dykstra was barred from entering either of them.

Instead, he decided to break and enter his former homes, remove items and attempt to sell them at a local consignment store.

This man is a former game three 1986 World Series hero.
