Athletes Make Far Too Much Money
The highest paid athletes make, on average, 20 million per year more than the highest paid athletes in 1991.
The cut-off to make the top 20 has jumped from $7 million to $26 million.
Today’s highest-paid athletes:
- Tiger Woods ($75 million)
- Kobe Bryant ($53 million)
- LeBron James ($48 million)
- Roger Federer ($47 million)
- Phil Mickelson ($46.5 million)
Top-paid in 1991:
- Evander Holyfield ($60.5 million)
- Mike Tyson ($31.5 million)
- Michael Jordan ($16 million)
- George Foreman ($14.5 million)
- Ayrton Senna ($13 million)
