$26,000 Shoes

At a recent shoe auction in Paris, renowned shoe-maker Vivier was forced to purchase it's own line of creations in order to prevent the collection from being scattered to the winds.

The collection had been displayed at Musée Romans before Vivier heirs decided to put the entire collection up for auction. Roger Vivier scooped up the majority of the collection including the most expensive shoe in the world:

[WWD] The brand also walked away with a shoe created by Vivier in 1962 for Iran's Princess Soraya, for the royal sum of 19,750 euros, or $26,385 at current exchange.

The museum will place the items saved back in the Roger Vivier Room.

Do you think this was a publicity stunt to raise the value of the Vivier collection? We do.
